YouTube’s Create app, a rival to TikTok’s creative tools, expands to 13 more markets | TechCrunch


YouTube Create is a standalone mobile app for Google creators that helps them create short and longer videos. expand The app is already available on Android in the U.S. and a few other select markets after launching in initial beta testing last fall, but today it’s rolling out to a dozen more countries, including Brazil, Spain, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, and more .

Through Create, users can upload clips, split and trim videos, use effects, and access royalty-free music to complement their videos. These copyrighted songs will also have the beat of the song synced to the video clip, similar to TikTok.

Another popular tool, audio cleaning, uses noise reduction models to reduce background and ambient noise and improve the audio quality of clips recorded by users on their smartphones.

There are also built-in voiceover tools, including automatic and editable subtitles, as well as various options for stylizing text.

Once users have finished editing, they can publish directly to YouTube with just one tap.

By offering a suite of tools specifically for YouTube creators, the company hopes to capture more of the market that prefers independent tools for editing videos.
