Walmart employee shot and killed teenager and injured 9-year-old child.Georgia police are looking for him

Authorities are searching for a 19-year-old man who officials say shot and killed two people inside a Walmart.

Fayetteville police said officers were called to a Walmart store on Pavillion Parkway around 10 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting.

When police arrived, they found Antavius ​​Holden, 19, of Riverdale, and a 9-year-old girl, both shot to death. Both were taken to the hospital.

Police confirmed Holden died in hospital and the child is currently in stable condition.

Police identified the shooter as 19-year-old Adrian Jelks, a Walmart employee.

Based on the investigation, police believe this was an isolated incident and that Jerkes planned to shoot the man. Police determined the child was an innocent bystander who was struck by a stray bullet.

“I’m shocked that an innocent child was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound, but I’m glad she’s in a stable condition,” police told reporters. Channel 2 Action News on the spot.

Immediately after the shooting, Jerkes drove away from the store but gave up soon after. He remains at large.

Police added that Jerkes is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Sandra Romero-Nunez and charged her with murder and aggravated assault. Police did not specify whether she was involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information on Jelks’ whereabouts is asked to call 911.
