Shakira Deciding not to fight in Spanish courts…she has settled a tax fraud case with the government and agreed to pay a multi-million dollar fine.
She reached a plea deal in the case that will see the singer sentenced to three years of probation and a $7.6 million fine after she failed to pay $15.8 million in taxes between 2012 and 2014.
Shakira appeared in court in Barcelona on Monday, but before the official incident, a settlement was announced.
The fine is actually a victory for the singer… prosecutors wanted more than double the amount. And, she certainly can afford it…her net worth is well over $200 million.
Shakira looked upbeat as she entered the court… blowing kisses to her fans.

As for why she reconciled, she said in a statement it was “so that my children would avoid seeing their mother sacrifice her own happiness.”

She remains angry, pursuing the Spanish government’s actions against athletes and other high-profile figures.
The judge asked her if she accepted the charges against her and she simply said, “I do.” The judge said the fine would end the case… without jail time.
