Stefan Ortega:6 – A routine save from Trossard, who was solid on several crosses and with the ball at his feet.

Manuel Akanji: 7 – Confident and composed at right back and centre-back. Always wanting the ball and trying to get City forward.

Ruben Dias: 7 – Rock solid, possess Kai Havertz Had it in his back pocket the whole game.

Nathan Acker: 6 – Should have scored earlier as he made a mistake when shooting from close range from the corner. Then he was substituted due to injury.

Josco Gvaldiol:8 – Excellent performance against Saka. After a long absence from the team, the young Croatian stepped up at left-back.

Mateo Kovacic: 6 – OK in midfield but never really had the ball in the final areas and was a bit sloppy towards half time.

Rodri: 9 – Unbelievable. Runs the midfield and dictates the tempo of the game. If a holding midfielder wins the Ballon d’Or, it should be him.

Phil Foden:6 – Flagged out Ben white.Barely caught the ball in a dangerous position.

Kevin De Bruyne:7 – He hit the ground himself as he led City’s attack, but he was often frustrated by the lack of movement around him. Passes into the box are easily cleared.

Bernardo Silva: 7 – See above. Probing very hard and looking for holes in Arsenal’s midfield and defence, he couldn’t find any.

Erling Haaland: 6 – Isolated and feeds on scraps. Saliba and Gabriel made him comfortable.

Rico Lewis (Ake 27th min): 6 – The defense performed well and provided some nice touches while hiding into midfield.
Jack Grealish (Kovacic 61st minute): 7 – A lot of shots from the left causing some problems for Ben White.
Jeremy Doku (Foden 61st minute): 5 – Unable to make the most of the opportunities City gave him the ball over and over again.

Arsenal player ratings

David Raya:6 – A couple of slips, a little wasted on the ball, but no saves.

Ben white:8 – Great job marking Foden out and always in the right position.

William Saliba:8 – Did some work on Haaland, didn’t cross the line physically.

Gabriel: 8 – See above. Some rash challenges in the first half set the tone for Arsenal’s physical display.

Jakub Kivior: 7 – He did his best to keep Silva quiet and defended solidly. No chance to catch the ball.

Martin Odegaard: 7 – Worked hard in the cabin, but most of the work was defensive. As always, some nice touches, at one point opening up the City defense for Trossard.

Jorginho:6 – Maintained his position well to help Arsenal stay consistent, but the pace of the game got past him.

Declan Rice:7 – Defensive effort but poor passing from set pieces. Arsenal can produce this type of defensive performance this season thanks to Rice.

Bukayo Saka: 6 – Had a couple of nice shots in the second half when he crossed into Jesus, but it was a bit too much. The second half limped along, and that was a problem.

Kai Havertz:6 – Worked hard, but like Haaland, he was isolated for much of the game.

Gabriel Jesus:7 – Arsenal’s biggest attacking threat. One shot in the first half went just wide and another shot into the side netting. He received a round of applause from the home fans when he was substituted.

Takehiro Fuyasu (Kiwior 67th minute): 7 – Really good job defending on Doku.
Thomas Partey (Jorginho 67th minute): 6 – Came on to help Arsenal absorb pressure and keep the ball well.
Leandro Trossard (Jesus 72): 6 – Active on the left, had a chance but hit Ortega from a tight angle.
Gabriel Martinelli (Saka 78th minute): 6 – Gave Arsenal an extra attacking chance but failed to gain any.
