Judge rejects Hunter Biden’s request to drop federal tax charges

On Monday, a federal judge in Los Angeles rejected the Hunter Biden’s Asked to dismiss tax charges against the president’s son, alleging he carried out a four-year scheme to avoid paying $1.4 million in taxes while living a lavish lifestyle.

One of the charges that U.S. District Judge Marc Scarsi dismissed in eight separate motions was that federal prosecutors allegedly bowed to Pressure from Republicans Alternatively, the younger Biden could be spared the consequences of a plea deal he previously negotiated.

Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, presented his case for three hours before the judge, who said he would rule by April 17.

Hunter Biden, 54, has pleaded not guilty to failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019 while apparently spending millions on drugs, escorts, exotic cars and other big-ticket items.

The trial is tentatively scheduled to begin on June 20 with jury selection.

Hunter Biden, the first child of a sitting president to face criminal charges, also faces another criminal case delaware federal court Alleged purchase of handgun during illegal drug use.

He expressed regret for his innocence and made similar arguments to dismiss the charges in the case.
